TWT is proud to sponsor Silvio Mondinelli’s High Mountain University. Together with other climbers and university instructors, Silvio organizes courses for beginners and experts alike to learn how best to tackle the incredible experience of a brief expedition in the Himalayas.

After scaling all 14 eight-thousanders, he has taken on the fresh challenge of founding this unique school, to pass on what he has learned in a twenty-year Himalayan career.

“We will be teaching what you need to do not only in the Himalayas but in the mountains in general,” explains Mondinelli, or Gnaro, as he is known. “We’ll be talking about climbs and mountaineering technique, but I also want to pass on everything I’ve learned throughout my career in terms of attitude: humility, doing the right thing, knowing when to give up, friendship and team spirit are all essential for expedition success and for overcoming problems.” .
