The Co-location service allows Carriers and Resellers to house their network servers and equipment in TWT’s technologically advanced 3000 square meter data rooms at its Server Farm, featuring modern security systems managed by trained personnel, guaranteeing the highest levels of performance in terms of high operating speed, reliability and traffic management. Customers can thus focus their attention on their core business, leaving TWT with the operational management of their technological infrastructure.Systems and infrastructure are managed from the perspective of Business Continuity (electrical power, conditioning, fireproofing, perimeter security, IP network), subject to constant monitoring and surveillance by specially trained personnel.
TWT’s Data Center is connected to the internet via a completely redundant network, via a number of fiber optic networks, to guarantee visibility in the event of a malfunction of either the fiber or the equipment.
TWT exclusively implements private peering for other providers to ensure the highest quality standards. Standard connections to TWT’s backbone are provided by one or two Fast Ethernet links at a bandwidth ranging from 1Mbps to 100Mbps. Gigabit Ethernet connections can also be requested with larger bandwidths, following feasibility studies.
TWT’s Server Farm architecture is based on the interconnection of Virtual LANs that remain distinct in terms of security level and user type. The network is a totally redundant structure that guarantees functioning in the case of the failure of any of its software and hardware elements.
The TWT Data Center is cabled and interconnected with the fiber networks and redundant capacities of the most prominent national and international operators. In addition, TWT has its own fiber network, which connects the TWT Data Center with the Data Centers in Via Caldera in Milan.
The client server is housed in a secure area accessible to authorized personnel only; server content is protected by the most sophisticated Firewalls and security systems, which can detect and prevent attempted intrusions. To ensure the reciprocal security of machinery belonging to different customers, TWT’s Server Farm, does have just one protected network, but rather a series of virtual networks communicating externally and between themselves, protected by firewalls.
TWT’s team of experts continuously monitors and thereby ensures the network’s proper operation. Customers can access their machinery for extraordinary maintenance activities, at times and via procedures agreed as necessary.
The Server Farm’s logical security is guaranteed by a "latest generation" centralized Firewall that acts as an antivirus device and that keeps out worms, and further allows for the configuration of content policies. Conventional protection systems often prove too slow, leaving the network dangerously exposed to outside attacks.
